Street Rat- Chapter 2 (Levi x Reader)

A/N PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEASE read the prologue, this is when plot begins.


“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA GOTCHA!!!” Hanji laughed loudly as levi stood there, drenched in water, coffee, and some other odd liquid you didn’t know.
His eyes showed pure rage. “Hanji.” He said quietly, “I suggest you run.”
Hanji giggled and said “It’s my birthday so you had it coming.”
“oh yeah…” He said annoyed.
“happy birthday hanji!” you said, speaking up.
“Oh thank you (y/n)!” She said grinning, “Theres a surprise party i’m holding for myself~” she said proudly, but also with a bit of… sadness.
Hanji was one of a kind. Loud, happy, passionate about her interests, everyone else isn’t like her. In a way it sounds lonely. You knew she was labeled as the annoying, overly energetic type, but she, in a way, was lonely. Thats when you got an idea.
“Levi… may I go back to my dorm please?” You asked sweetly with a cute pout face.
“Tch fine. Your running 50 laps tomorrow. Petra, come with me please.” He said, going into the building. Blushing, she ran up to him. A wave of jealousy shivered down your spine. Why? It’s not like you loved Levi… It’s not like you were dating him… But that feeling… No. Focus on Hanji. It’s her day.

~*Time Skip*~

You hurried to the dorms and announced to the girls, “I’m hosting a surprise party for Hanji!” At first they thought it was a joke, then Ymir asked, “Why?”
“Because it’s her birthday” You said quietly.
Krista smiled warmly and said, “That sounds like a wonderful idea~”
Sasha put on a big grin and said, “Let’s go tell the boys!”
You all talked of ideas of what to do on the way to the boys dorms.
When you opened the door you weren’t surprised at what you saw. Jean on top of Eren half strangling him, while connie was desperately trying to pull him off, while Eren was repeatedly kneeing Jean where the sun doesn't shine. Mikasa entered the room and Jean immediately got off of Eren, falling into Connie, who was laughed at by Sasha. You giggled and told the boys the plan.
“But… why?” Jean questioned, sitting unnaturally close to you.
“Because she took me in. She’s introduced me to all of you, she deserves a party not put on by herself.”
Eren nodded, along with Connie and Jean.
You all gathered around Eren’s bunk and you internally smiled. You were with friends. If you declined the offer to come here… You would still  be living on your own.
“We should hold it in the mess hall.” You said.
“Will Erwin let us?” Questioned an unamused Ymir.
“Probably. If we clean up afterwards.” You said determined.
“I know! Me and Ymir will bake a cake!” Krista smiled sweetly.
Ymir blushed slightly and noded.
“I’ll get party stuff!” Connie grinned.
“I’ll cook the food!!!” Sasha smiled brightly.
You smile brightly. This was going to be great.


In the end Jean, Eren and Connie decorated the place and got cheap yellow table cloths and painted papers all different colors and put them on the walls, they spelled “Happy Birthday HanG”
“why does it say Han’G’?” You ask.
“We ran out of paint…” Jean said. Thats when a sweet smell reached your nose. The cake. Krista and Ymir brought out a poorly decorated cake, but it smelled amazing, followed by cooked chicken. “Guys this is great!”
Thats when Petra walked into the room… You remembered her and Levi… Your mood dropped a little.
“Whats this?” She asked.
“A party for Hanji’s birthday.” You said.
“Guys shes coming” Announced Jean, walking away from his watch.
You looked into the hall and saw Hanji bothering Levi
You stand by the door and look at what your friends created.
the banner displaying her name was all different colors and the cloth was too small to cover the entire table, so it was draped across the middle with plates and forks all set up and ready to go. The food was all ready to go, and the cake was in the middle. All together it was… quite a sight. Thought that counts, right? When Hanji walked in with Levi, her eyes lit up and everyone said “Happy birthday Hanji!”
You smiled the biggest. Then you saw Levi locking eyes with Petra, and your spirits were brought down once again, until Hanji lifted you off the ground and pulled you into a tight hug and spun you around. You smiled and laughed.
Levi looked pissed. “Who’s idea was this?”
“(y/n)’s” Jean proudly said.
Hanji smiled again, “Thank you, (y/n)...”
You smiled again and then… saw Levi’s deadly glare, aimed at you.
“I’m cleaning up afterwards don’t worry.” You said, smiling at him.
He seemed surprised, but glared again. “Good. Petra did you play a part in this?” He asked.
“No heichou”
“Good.”
You internally scoffed. You weren’t involved with Levi, but you felt a certain spark. Clearly he didn’t feel the same way…

*Levi pov*
(y/n) put on a party for Hanji, which was one of the most… thoughtful things anyone has done for shitty glasses. She smiled, at ME. When I was glaring at her. Normally people would get close to shitting their pants when they piss me off. Then again she’s not like other cadets. I wanted to tell her… But I have to wait. I want to be the one to see the smile on her face. Shit. Levi stop. You can’t love her. You can’t. Dammit…

*back to you*
The party was fun. The food was amazing, the cake was flawless, and Erwin showed up later, giving everyone whisky. Everyone needs a party every once in awhile. It was a generally happy day. Levi fell asleep in the chair and petra left early. Hanji was drunk, and left a few minutes ago. Jean was helping you clean up. “Thanks for helping Jean” You said.
“No problem.”He yawned, “You're good at this for never throwing a party before”
“Heh thanks…” You said, tired yourself.
Jean smiled. “Go get some sleep, (y/n)”
“You sure?”
“I’m positive”
“Thanks jean” You smiled, as you left the room heading back to your dorm.
You didn’t notice Levi was awake.
“Are you and (y/n) a thing.” Demanded Levi after you left.
“u-uh no sir” Jean said, jumping out of his skin.
“Good. Keep it that way.” Levi said, before getting up and leaving.

*Levi pov*
I begin my journey back to my office, pleased with the party that was actually enjoyable. Thats when Erwin saw me and said to come to his office. I followed him thru the doors and sat across from him. “What is it?” I say irritated.
“Remember the day we took (Y/N) in? When we found her on the street? You said you wanted to look after her and keep her safe.”
“Yeah I remember, why?”
“I’m going to have to ask you to keep her in your sight 24/7.”
It didn’t seem too bad. I’ve grown to like her anyways. “Alright. Why?”
“I fear she’s in danger.”
I feel my eyes go dark. “Why.”
“Remember the 4 men she was involved with when he found her?”
“Yes.”
“The military police has been training them, as we have her. I have no power over what they do, but the one with dark hair has chosen to join the survey corps. His name is Dominic.”
